The Mayacama Mountaintop Retreat is located in the Mayacama Mountain range in the heart of Sonoma's wine country ~ ideally situated between the towns of Kenwood and Santa Rosa. This romantic hide-a-way is walking distance to Hood Mountain Park, yet only minutes to some of the best wineries, dining, and activities in the region.

The retreat offers one truly unique and remarkable dwelling, Clair de Lune Cottage. This cottage has scores of admirers and offers the fortunate few who visit each year, a chance to discover the lost art of living!

Set on 5 pristine acres and surrounded by thousands of acres of unspoiled California Oak woodlands. The retreat boasts a 100 ft. suspension bridge over a waterfall, which leads out to a spectacular point where the newly built star house is perched on a sheer cliff. Crafted with an eye for genius, boldness and imagination, the starhouse was built for friends and guests at our retreat to admire the breathtaking views from the deck, sipping a bottle of our complimentary wine and watching the stars through a high powered telescope. An outdoor hot tub is also available for Clair de Lune Cottage guests and sits on a cliff at the head of the waterfall trail.

You can stay at the cottage or go horse back riding, bicycling around the historic Sonoma square, take a wine tour on a tram at Benziger's Winery in Glen Ellen, or partake of the many sesonable and festival events. There is antique shopping in railroad square, boating, swimming & picknicking around Spring Lake (only 4 miles from the retreat) or go touring around the historic square of Sonoma, Healdsburg and Calistoga, where you can take mud baths, get a hot stone massage or eat from many of the world renowned restaurants our region is famous for. Massage is available on site and as well as complete privacy for the most romantic wine country getaway. A bottle of organic wine, gourmet coffees, teas, bath salts, sweet soaps & other amenities are provided in the cottage. Luther Burbank, horticulturalist and naturalist described Jack London's Valley of the Moon as "...the chosen spot of all this earth..." for her natural beauty, ecological diversity and remarkable peace.

We are now offering another vacation cottage in Glen Ellen. The premiere winery town in the valley of the moon. Please go to our website http://www.dolcevita-villa.com
